Zappi Solar EV Home Charger Installed in Christchurch, From $2,418
If you have panels on the roof, this is the charger that turns them into free kilometres. Load management is built in.
Why We Fit Zappi
The myenergi Zappi exists for one reason: putting solar power into your car instead of exporting it for a few cents. Its Eco+ mode waits until your panels are making more than the house is using, then charges with only that surplus. Eco mode blends surplus with a trickle of grid power. Fast mode behaves like any other 7kW charger when you need the range by morning. A Cashmere customer of ours runs his Tesla from 10am to 3pm on sunny days at next to no cost.
The CT clamps that make the solar modes work also give the Zappi load management as standard, so it suits older boards too. It comes tethered or as a socket unit. The premium only makes sense if you have solar or are about to get it. If you are not, an Evnex or EV Power charger does the everyday job for less.
- Eco and Eco+ modes charge from surplus solar only
- Load management included via the CT clamps
- Tethered or socket versions available
- Pairs with the myenergi Eddi to heat your hot water from solar too

Zappi Owners Say
Watching the Zappi run the Tesla from 10am through to 3pm on a bright day, at next to no cost, never stops being satisfying. Our power bill is well below what our neighbours pay with the same solar system, simply because we're consuming our own generation rather than giving it away at a low rate.

Zappi on a Solar House
Where the Zappi Earns Its Price
The Zappi home charger earns its price on a house with panels. Its Eco+ mode waits for surplus solar and charges the car with power you would otherwise export for a few cents. Without solar it still works as a good 7kW charger with load management, at $2,418 installed.
